Talash Huijbers

Talash Huijbers is a Kenyan-Dutch agribusiness leader and the Founder & CEO of InsectiPro, a pioneering Nairobi-based enterprise advancing sustainable agriculture through large-scale insect bioconversion. With a background in International Food and Agribusiness from HAS University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, she returned to Kenya to address structural challenges in food security, organic waste management, and the rising cost of animal feed. Under her leadership, InsectiPro has developed an integrated circular production model that leverages black soldier fly and cricket systems to transform organic waste into high-quality protein, biofertilizer, and value-added consumer products. Since founding the company, she has grown operations to process over 150 tons of waste daily, built a workforce exceeding 100 employees, and established InsectiPro as one of Africa's most innovative agri-circular enterprises. Her work has received international recognition, including support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and selectoo for the MIT solver and ChangeNow awards. Talash is widely regarded as a leading voice in regenerative agriculture, climate-smart food systems, and the development of scalable, commercially viable circular economy solutions for emerging markets.
