Roland Oletu Oroh
Roland is a Business Development Practitioner with specialization in agribusiness, trade and investment facilitation. He has 27 years’ combined experience in bilateral development assistance in trade capacity building, agribusiness development, and project management.
He worked for international development assistance projects and agencies including the U.K. Department for International Development and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). At USAID, Roland designed, launched and supervised the management, till close-out, of the $16.8 million, 5-year USAID/Nigeria’s flagship trade capacity and investment facilitation ‘Nigeria Expanded Trade and Transport (NEXTT)’ Project by Palladium International. NEXTT facilitated over $50 million in exports of cashews and other products from Nigeria to global markets and facilitated over $30 million in new investments along the Lagos-Kano-Jibiya (LAKAJI) Economic Growth Corridor from 2012 to 2017. Prior to NEXTT, he successfully supervised the management of the ‘Nigeria Expanded Export Project’, a $2 million pilot export promotion facility funded by USAID/Nigeria from 2010 to 2012, managed by the U.S based Nathan Associates.
Roland is Founder and Director of Agribusiness Register Limited (ABR). ABR designs, establishes and manages agribusiness platforms and market places using sustainable business practices. ABR manages the EU-Nigeria Agribusiness Platform, established to strengthen economic cooperation between Nigeria and European Union through agribusiness development, trade expansion, and digital transformation.
Roland is the Founder and Managing Director of Commodities Development Initiative (CDI) www.cdi.org.ng - an emerging business development service provider and project management company that provides economic development services to communities through investment facilitation, value chain development, export development and private sector development services to the agriculture, livestock and light manufacturing sectors. Some CDI clients include the Enyimba Economic City’s special economic zone, Niger State Government amongst others. CDI is currently implementing a Made in Nigeria for Export (MINEx) project, under which livestock and fodder industry development is a priority. CDI, FMLD and FMA&FS are collaborating under a PPP arrangement to develop the livestock, fodder and soybean sectors for domestic and export market expansion. CDI manages the Nigeria Soybean Partnership, Nigeria Fodder Partnership and the Nigeria Red Meat Partnership which consists of standard abattoir owners, feedlot operators, service providers and regulatory agencies.
Roland has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Business Administration. He was born in October 1967, and is married with a son.
