John Adekunle

Adekunle John Olayiwola is a prominent figure in Nigeria's agricultural landscape, known for his dual roles in driving the dairy industry forward. As the dedicated Country Manager for URUS Genetics in Nigeria, he is at the forefront of a crucial mission: introducing advanced cattle genetics and modern artificial insemination (AI) techniques to local farmers. His work focuses on leveraging international genetic expertise, often sourced through the URUS subsidiary GENEX, to significantly enhance milk production and the economic viability of dairy farming in the region.

Beyond his leadership at URUS, Olayiwola also holds a key position as the Head of Dairy Development Operations at FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC, a role he has held since 2010. This dual engagement allows him to bridge the gap between global genetic innovation and local dairy development, providing hands-on training and strategic support to stakeholders across the value chain.

With a rich background in both the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and agricultural sectors, Olayiwola is a vocal advocate for modernizing Nigerian livestock practices. He actively participates in workshops and training sessions, sharing his knowledge to build capacity within the local farming community. Professionally affiliated with the International Institute of Food Technologist (IFT) in the USA and the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST), Olayiwola continues to be a driving force in shaping a more productive and sustainable future for Nigeria's dairy industry.
