A Message from the Governor
Dear Investors,
Oyo State remains a land of vast promise, with rich agricultural resources, an enterprising population, and a government committed to driving economic growth through agribusiness. Our vision is clear: to position Oyo State as a leading hub for agro-industrial investment in Nigeria and West Africa, powered by innovation, resilience, and inclusive partnerships.
In 2021, when we convened stakeholders at the first Oyo Agribusiness Summit, we set a bold agenda to transform our agricultural landscape. That summit catalyzed over ₦35 billion in private sector investments and secured more than 126 million US dollars in development finance support, reinforcing Oyo State’s reputation as a credible destination for agribusiness. We didn't just talk; we delivered.
Today, as we welcome you to the Oyo State International Agribusiness Summit 2025 themed “Expanding Oyo State’s Economy through Agricultural Industrailization,” we do so with renewed purpose. This summit marks another milestone in our journey to create a modern, data-driven, climate-smart, and youth-inclusive agricultural economy.
Through flagship initiatives like the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZs) in Fasola, Ijaiye, and Eruwa, we are catalyzing agro-industrial development across key regions of the state. These zones are designed to provide integrated infrastructure for large-scale processing, storage, and export, creating opportunities for investors in value addition, logistics, input supply, and workforce development. Whether in cassava processing, dairy production, poultry, or horticulture, these hubs offer ready access to raw materials, labor, and markets within and beyond Nigeria. We are not just growing food; We are building an economy.
This summit is more than an event. It is a convergence of bold ideas, global expertise, and shared ambitions. It is a platform for business leaders, policymakers, financiers, researchers, agricultural professionals, technology innovators, investment consultants, and entrepreneurs to engage, collaborate, and forge partnerships that will shape the future of agribusiness in Nigeria.
We are fully aware that to sustain this progress, we must continue to create an enabling environment for investment. That is why our government remains committed to infrastructural development, policy reforms, transparent governance, and open collaboration with investors and stakeholders.
To this end, I am inviting all investors, agribusiness leaders, development partners, international agencies, researchers, business executives, SMEs, supply chain specialists, financial institutions, agritech startups, commodity buyers, exporters, and entrepreneurs to participate in this historic event. The Oyo State International Agribusiness Summit 2025 offers a platform for long-term economic growth, collaborative development, and rewarding returns on investment.
Together, let us expand Oyo State’s economy through agribusiness. Sustainably. Inclusively. Boldly.
